Local woman Chelsea Willoughby has taken out the top award for ‘Up and Coming PA of the Year’ at the 2015 national Executive PA awards held recently in Sydney.
Chelsea is Executive Assistant at Mount Isa Mines. She has worked at Mount Isa Mines for over four years. Prior to that Chelsea worked for a major bank in a customer advisory role.
Sponsored by Hays Office Support, the Executive PA ‘Up and Coming PA of the Year’ award recognises those at the beginning of their PA (personal assistant) career who already display the potential to become a future leader in their field and ‘PA of the Year’. The ‘Up and Coming PA’ shows enthusiasm to learn and progress in the administrative profession and displays a full understanding and ability to fulfil their role to an outstanding level.
By winning this award, Chelsea receives a Swinburne University scholarship into the Graduate Certificate of Business Management (Executive Administration). This is a postgraduate, high level qualification specifically aimed at developing executive level skills for Executive Assistants, and is valued at $8,800.
Commenting on her award win, Chelsea said: “I’m very honoured to be recognised at a national level through this award. Further study is something that I have been thinking about recently and I am so grateful to have been awarded this scholarship.
“It’s been a really great year for me. In August I was promoted to Executive Assistant and now winning this award on top of that has been a huge bonus. I have already enrolled in the next intake and I look forward to developing my career over the years to come.”
Christine Law, Business Manager of Hays in Mt Isa, said: “We are delighted that a local PA received this national award. It shows the rest of Australia what great local talent we have in our community. We were very pleased that Chelsea received this award in recognition of her outstanding professional attitude and performance. We look forward to watching her career successes in the years ahead.”
