Our commitment, Sustainability Framework and focus on social impact
We aim to be a purpose-led organisation, benefiting society by investing in lifelong partnerships that empower people and organisations to succeed. Our core company value is ‘Do the right thing’, and it is a central pillar of our strategy. Our values help to define how we do business, and how we interact with our many stakeholders.
We are committed to being a sustainable business in its widest sense, as defined by our values, the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) and our participation in the United Nations Global Compact. Our Sustainability Framework is focused on the areas of highest materiality to Hays across Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) issues.
Purpose is at the centre of our framework, recognising it is our colleagues and people that drive our ESG sustainability strategy. We have conducted a double materiality assessment to inform our strategy and we participate in various ESG benchmarks and assessments to understand our performance and pursue continuous improvement.
We seek to positively contribute and add value to society through employment and the world of work. For this reason, we have deliberately doubled the weighting of societal categories within our framework. We believe Hays can have the greatest stakeholder impact in the societies we operate in via our social initiatives. Our main focus is on helping people with their careers and skill development, and helping organisations find the talent they need to thrive.
