Hays helped over 7,000 less advantaged people improve their employability across the globe through its charity and volunteering programme, Helping for your tomorrow.

Forty-one per cent of Hays employees worldwide took part in volunteering efforts during its last financial year, totalling over 28,000 hours and representing an increase of 44% compared to the previous year. Hays also fundraised and donated nearly £300k throughout the year.

Hays’ community engagement programme had its most successful year to date, as it collaborated with more than 100 community partners and focused on inclusive employment and skills development through charitable partnerships and volunteering.

Hays India organised a Leadership Team visit to a school and provided career counselling to under-privileged children preparing to take their first steps in the world of work. In Latin America, Hays has partnered with the Special Olympics to help create a more inclusive and accessible work environment for people with disabilities. Hays UK recently celebrated winning a Social Value Award for its Project Flourish, a first of its kind pro-bono employability programme it created in partnership with EveryYouth. In Germany, Hays’ Helping for your tomorrow community efforts were recognised as it received a HR Excellence Award.

By assisting those less advantaged as they enter the workforce, Helping for your tomorrow not only bolsters the economies in which Hays operates but also nurtures potential clients, candidates, employees, suppliers, shareholders, and consumers of its services. Operating responsibly ensures the protection and upliftment of the communities where Hays is based, creating a win-win situation for everyone involved.

To celebrate the achievements of employees, Hays held its internal annual Helping for your tomorrow Awards Show, announcing country winners from across the globe. The awards further recognise the contribution of Hays employees globally in relation to their charity work.

Kai Becker, Chair of the Helping for your tomorrow Steering Committee, commented:

“As a people business, we’re strongly committed to a social purpose for workplace engagement and community impact. So, I am incredibly proud to see our Helping for your tomorrow initiative receive so much support from colleagues across the globe. I am pleased with the progress we made in enhancing volunteering activities, creating impact and enabling colleagues worldwide to contribute to local initiatives.

“This initiative underscores Hays’ commitment to enacting positive change and aligns with its ethos of doing the right thing. I would like to thank those involved for their support and dedication throughout the year. I would also like to thank the extraordinarily dedicated members of Steering Committee and all who supported our programme.”
