Tim Hall, Business Director at Hays in Birmingham, has raised over £1,000 for Samaritans in a series of fancy dress runs.
Tim set himself several challenges throughout the month of November to raise awareness for men’s health, specifically, suicide among men. His challenges included growing a moustache for Movember, giving up alcohol, and running over 100 miles throughout the month.
So far Tim has run dressed as Santa, cricketing legend Merv Hughes, a playboy bunny and Hulk Hogan.
Tim is raising money for Samaritans, a charity aimed at providing emotional support to those across the UK and Ireland experiencing emotional stress, struggling to cope, or at risk of suicide. The charity is contactable via a free phone (number: 116 123) and every £5 donated has the power to answer a potentially life-saving call.
Earlier this year during the first national lockdown, Tim also undertook a series of runs in fancy dress to raise money for charity. Along with his team at Hays, he raised over £5,500 for Hays’ charity partner, End Youth Homelessness. The funds went towards providing homeless young people across the UK with individually-tailored support to work towards their career goals.
Speaking of his fundraising efforts, Tim said: “Without stating the obvious, these are tough times for many and I really wanted to raise some money for and awareness of a brilliant charity for a cause that’s close to my heart. If I can raise the odd smile or two through the winter months, then that’s and added bonus!”
