Hays, the world’s leading recruiting experts in qualified, professional and skilled people, announces the five new roles that will be on the rise in the new Reiwa.

As a leading global professional recruiting group operating in 34 markets across the globe, Hays anticipates a rise in demand involving occupations around AI and automation.

1. AI engineers with business skills
Although AI engineers are high in demand and there is a persisting shortage of talent, companies continue to insist on employing AI engineers who also possess business skills. Not only are they looking for technical skills, but also for candidates who are able to use AI to improve internal processes. As a result, such engineers are highly regarded and can command high compensation packages.

2. Data visualisers
Data can only be used after evaluation and analysis. Data visualisers are professionals who visualise and make sense of business data and turn them into actionable insights. Such talent are high in demand but short in supply.

3. Data artists
Data artists are experts who create graphs, charts and infographics to analyse data and extract insights that are essential to businesses. The demand for data artists is also growing rapidly worldwide and vacancies around the world remain unfilled.

4. Customer analysis engineers
As an occupation that makes use of large data, the need for customer analysis is also on the rise. Whether it is within the financial, manufacturing, or distribution industry, this calls for further emphasis around data to analyse customers, improve services and attract customers.

5. CCSO (Chief Cyber Security Officer)
Advancements in AI and IoT technologies are creating new management positions. Among them, the “Chief Cyber Security Officer” manages the development and construction of new systems in order to combat new potential viruses and hacks. CCSOs play a crucial role in managing the IT team, and demand is also significantly increasing.

Marc Burrage, Managing Director of Hays Japan, commented as follows:
“In this fast-moving world, a willingness to learn and adapt has never been so important. My advice for any candidate would be to bridge any gaps in your knowledge by keeping on top of current trends and changes relevant to your sector by reading reports, new articles, attending networking functions and seminars, and participating in online discussions. Continually upskilling, whether by formal courses or on-the job learning, helps ensure your skills remain relevant.”
