Project Flourish, UK

Project Flourish, Hays' employability programme created in partnership with EveryYouth, continued to expand its reach and impact during the year, helping young people at risk of homelessness access meaningful employment. Through collaboration with employers, charity partners and Hays colleagues, the programme combines tailored learning, mentoring, coaching and practical financial support to address barriers to work and sustain meaningful employment. Our programme has now generated over £1.8m in social value since launching nearly four years ago.

“Reflecting Hays’ Valued Behaviours the programme shows how colleagues and partners are working better together to own outcomes for the young people it supports.

“During the year, Project Flourish strengthened its offer through enhanced coaching and mentoring, helping young people build confidence, develop future workplace skills and navigate challenges as they progress towards long-term employment. By responding to individual needs and constantly evolving its approach, the programme continues to create lasting change.

“Project Flourish also demonstrates the power of being better together. We have now supported 63 young people with more than three-quarters of participants remaining in employment beyond six months, and have helped over one-third into independent accommodation.

“Additionally, more than 1,600 young people at risk of homelessness have accessed the programme's learning platform, supported by the introduction of an enhanced learning management system offering over 900 courses and improved accessibility. This has demonstrated the programme’s ability to scale support beyond direct placements, helping more young people build skills, confidence and readiness for work – and at a time and place that suits them.

“By championing young people and sharing expertise, the programme embodies Hays' commitment to positive social impact, and our role in driving momentum towards a more inclusive world of work.”
