We have made a number of public commitments which include GHG emission reduction targets approved by the Science Based Targets Initiatives (SBTi). We have set our targets in line with the Paris Agreement’s 1.5oC.
Driving Progress on Climate
We implement a range of initiatives and projects to reduce our greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and support the achievement of our net zero ambitions. Key areas of focus include increasing the use of renewable energy across our offices, reducing emissions from our vehicle fleet through the transition to electric vehicles, managing emissions associated with business travel, and engaging with suppliers and landlords to support emissions reductions across our value chain.

We have a Sustainability Committee and an Audit & Risk Committee to support Board oversight of climate-related matters. These committees systematically review climate-related reporting, performance, risks and opportunities, and support the integration of climate considerations into risk management, governance, assurance and internal control processes.

Our Progress So Far
Hays continues to make progress against its climate commitments through the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, increased adoption of renewable electricity, supplier engagement activities and continued strengthening of climate governance. Environmental Reporting and Performance
Transparency is an important part of our environmental programme. We report our climate-related performance, greenhouse gas emissions, targets and progress through our Annual Report & Accounts and supporting environmental disclosures.
Selected greenhouse gas emissions metrics are independently assured by ERM Certification and Verification Services Limited (ERM CVS). Further details can be found in our FY26 Assurance Report.
