Health and Safety

We provide safe and healthy working conditions for our employees and visitors. The Health and Safety Manager has a responsibility not only for policy development and implementation , but also the collation and dissemination of information and statistics. Policies are clear and simple, they are regularly reviewed, updated, and refresher training is provided for health and safety officers in the business units.

The Health and Safety Manager has visited 30% of all offices during the year as part of an ongoing programme. In addition audits have been conducted on several client sites. The incident reporting system continues to identify accidents that occur to our staff, and the Group Secretary reports significant events to the Executive Committee. The statistics are compiled and shared across the Group enabling management to take a proactive approach to Health and Safety for their staff. The majority of incidents in 2004/05 in the UK have been trips and falls and striking fixed objects. The frequency of these incidents has been low and the severity minor.
