We are delighted to announce that our new charity partner as of 1 August 2006 is Marie Curie Cancer Care.
Research has shown that 75% of people who are seriously ill with cancer would like to be cared for at home. Marie Curie Nurses make that wish possible for thousands of cancer patients in cities, towns and villages across the UK every single year.
The charity also provides the largest number of hospice beds outside the NHS with 10 hospices throughout the UK. These hospices offer specialist support in a relaxed, friendly and comfortable environment and no charge is ever made to patients or their families.
Across Hays, we will be working closely with Marie Curie Cancer Care through many of our PR/marketing events both internally across our offices, and where possible, externally with client and candidate driven initiatives.
In addition to two UK-wide Fundraising Days, there is also an action-packed nationwide Marie Curie programme of fundraising events, which includes the BUPA Great Run Autumn Series, overseas challenges (Kilimanjaro & Great Wall of China treks), abseiling, five-a-side football tournaments and much, much more.
The NSPCC, our corporate charity for the past two years, has expressed its gratitude to everyone at Hays for our fantastic contribution, which totalled in excess of £75,000.
